KLA is seeking a Sr. FPGA Engineer to join their electrical engineering team, focusing on architecting and implementing FPGA designs for advanced E-beam inspection systems. The role requires collaboration with hardware and embedded software engineers to develop high-performance mixed-signal designs. • Experience with complex FPGA firmware designs
• Experience with Xilinx or Intel/Altera FPGAs
• Proficiency in FPGA simulation tools such as VCS or Modelsim
• Proficiency in FPGA design tools such as Vivado
• Proficiency in hardware description languages such as Verilog or System Verilog
• Understanding of FPGA timing analysis and ability to solve timing-related issues
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes
• Solid knowledge of various protocols to interface different peripherals including PCIe, Aurora, DDR4, 10G, SPI, and I2C
• Knowledge of networking and embedded Linux build systems
• Self-motivated and effective communicator with collaboration skills

• Design test benches for simulation, timing analysis, and FPGA functionality verification
• Design, implement, and debug FPGAs and firmware for advanced E-Beam systems
• Collaborate with hardware and embedded software engineers to design FPGA firmware
• Define FPGA firmware requirement specifications and develop design projects from concept to production release
• Understand and gather project specifications and performance requirements on board and system level
• Write technical documentation that meets defined quality standards
• Work with other engineering groups to ensure seamless integration and testing at the subsystem and system level
