Job description
KLA is seeking a Sr. FPGA Engineer to join their electrical engineering team, focusing on architecting and implementing FPGA designs for advanced E-beam inspection systems. The role requires collaboration with hardware and embedded software engineers to develop high-performance mixed-signal designs. Requirements
- Experience with complex FPGA firmware designs
- Experience with Xilinx or Intel/Altera FPGAs
- Proficiency in FPGA simulation tools such as VCS or Modelsim
- Proficiency in FPGA design tools such as Vivado
- Proficiency in hardware description languages such as Verilog or System Verilog
- Understanding of FPGA timing analysis and ability to solve timing-related issues
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes
- Solid knowledge of various protocols to interface different peripherals including PCIe, Aurora, DDR4, 10G, SPI, and I2C
- Knowledge of networking and embedded Linux build systems
- Self-motivated and effective communicator with collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Design test benches for simulation, timing analysis, and FPGA functionality verification
- Design, implement, and debug FPGAs and firmware for advanced E-Beam systems
- Collaborate with hardware and embedded software engineers to design FPGA firmware
- Define FPGA firmware requirement specifications and develop design projects from concept to production release
- Understand and gather project specifications and performance requirements on board and system level
- Write technical documentation that meets defined quality standards
- Work with other engineering groups to ensure seamless integration and testing at the subsystem and system level
