The Principal Software Engineer Manager at Microsoft will lead engineering teams focused on developing and improving Azure services within specialized cloud environments. This role emphasizes end-to-end service accountability, ensuring operational excellence and customer impact while navigating regulatory constraints. The manager will collaborate with various partners to drive automation, incident response, and compliance workflows. This position requires a strong technical background and people management skills to guide teams in delivering reliable and secure cloud solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions.
Responsibilities
- Lead teams on the disciplined use of AI tools and practices across the software development lifecycle.
- Guide teams on producing extensible, maintainable, well-tested, secure, and performant code.
- Ensure ongoing support for services or products through effective telemetry and incident response processes.
- Drive efforts to ensure project plans adhere to security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Act as an expert for deployment appropriate environments and automate deployment tasks when possible.
