Job description

Microsoft is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Cloud+AI Azure Data Team, which focuses on transforming analytics through various data products. The role involves deploying and operating Azure Data services in secure environments, catering to both internal and external customers in regulated industries. The engineer will work on ensuring security compliance while developing and maintaining high-quality software solutions. This position emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to building a data platform for the age of AI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Candidates must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required pre-offer and post-hire for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Use appropriate artificial intelligence tools and practices across the software development lifecycle in a disciplined manner.
  • Support efforts to proactively verify assumptions before issues occur for product features in production.
  • Review product feature code and test code to ensure it meets team standards and is appropriate for the product feature.
  • Create and implement code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.
  • Understand and provide feedback for proposals for architecture, testing various design options for a product feature.
  • Contribute to the identification of requirements for automation within production and deployment of complex product features.
  • Maintain operations of live site service, responding quickly to mitigate issues while following security best practices.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand and determine customer/user requirements for a set of features.
