Job description

As a Senior Product Design Engineer for the Pixel Earbuds team at Google, you will focus on designing and delivering innovative wearable experiences. You will be responsible for shaping the future of Pixel devices through advanced designs and techniques in consumer electronics. This role requires collaboration with various internal teams and external vendors to ensure the successful development of the next-generation Pixel Earbuds. Your expertise will drive the design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts in a product-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience designing mechanical components such as plastic or metal parts, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit boards, or flexes.
  • 5 years of experience using computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as 3D MCAD, NX, Creo, or Solidworks.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
  • 8 years of work experience in consumer product design is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Apply design, engineering, and technical expertise to influence cross-functionally and deliver reliable mass production components.
  • Anticipate and address product design issues or risks, analyze data, and validate product design to suggest or implement design improvements.
  • Manage the product design, provide guidance to team members, and communicate progress to prevent or remove roadblocks.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal cross-functional teams to define and deliver excellent products.
