Job description
The Incident Manager role at Bloomberg focuses on coordinating and communicating during service-impacting outages to minimize their impact on users. The Incident Management team works closely with various technical teams to ensure timely resolution of incidents. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to assess outage severity quickly. The role is critical for maintaining the reliability of Bloomberg's systems and ensuring client satisfaction.
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience with incident management for application and/or infrastructure services.
- Good organization skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong collaboration skills and an interest in developing a strong network.
Responsibilities
- Quickly and accurately assess the severity of an outage regarding business impact and technical complexity.
- Coordinate investigations and drive incidents to resolution using critical thinking skills.
- Facilitate outage resolution through effective communication across multiple teams.
- Act as the central point of contact during incidents, ensuring alignment across technical teams and stakeholders.
- Communicate and escalate with stakeholders and senior management regarding outages and status updates.
