The Senior Platform Engineer role at Parametric focuses on partnering with cloud-native application development teams to enhance software delivery and developer experience. This position is part of the Platform Engineering team, which is essential for system reliability and developer enablement throughout the Software Development Lifecycle. The role emphasizes creating reusable components and workflows while fostering a culture of continuous experimentation. The engineer will also mentor junior team members and contribute to the evolution of cloud-focused architecture.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related area of study
• 5+ years of hands-on Platform Engineering experience with a proven track record of leadership
• 5+ years of experience with cloud-native solution architectures and related platform support
• Expertise in automation strategies for cloud-native solutions
• Proven experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code, preferably with Terraform
• Experience using GitHub and engineering YAML-based CI/CD pipelines
• Experience implementing and operating container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
• Expertise in scripting with Python, BASH, and PowerShell

• Function as a subject matter expert in delivering and operating reliable, performant, robust, and secure applications
• Work with development teams to design, document, create, and maintain highly available systems
• Design, implement, and manage centralized monitoring solutions for expedient actionable feedback
• Partner with application development teams to create flows, processes, automation, and tooling
• Create an environment of continuous experimentation and learning
• Contribute to the evolution of cloud-focused architecture to increase flexibility and ease of use
• Follow technology trends and recommend improvements to our technology
• Mentor new or less senior members of the team
• Provide tier 2 and 3 escalations for related issues and questions
