Job description

Arcadis is seeking a Project Environmental Scientist to join its Ohio/Midwest U.S. Industrial Hygiene team. The role focuses on conducting industrial hygiene assessments and ensuring regulatory compliance in various projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in chemical exposure assessments, noise monitoring, and hazardous materials consulting. This position offers opportunities for collaboration and professional growth while requiring occasional overnight travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science
  • 8+ years of experience in consulting or professional services
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state regulations related to asbestos and mold
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • RCRA/DOT Hazardous Waste Shipping Training
  • A State of Ohio asbestos license

Responsibilities

  • Conduct industrial hygiene surveys and oversee contractors.
  • Document field activities accurately using standard forms and electronic survey tools.
  • Coordinate with program managers, project teams, and subcontractors to gather information for technical reports.
  • Review industrial hygiene field documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Validate findings and develop recommendations with guidance from technical leadership.
  • Interpret laboratory reports.
  • Prepare technical memoranda and reports.
  • Work independently and as part of a project team in a fast-paced environment.
