The Video Applications team at Apple is seeking a Software Developer in Test with expertise in macOS/iOS applications, video codecs, and performance testing. This role focuses on ensuring software quality through automation and performance testing for innovative creativity applications. The ideal candidate will work closely with quality engineers to develop and maintain testing infrastructure while driving quality improvements. A passion for video and photo technologies, along with strong communication skills, is essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, test automation, and/or tools and automation development.
  • Experience in Python and shell scripting.
  • Understanding of software and hardware performance testing methodologies and strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree.

Responsibilities

  • Define and develop performance testing test cases, including metrics and benchmarks.
  • Contribute to delivering a scalable performance and automation infrastructure.
  • Plan, design, write, maintain, and execute test cases manually and through automation using Swift and Python.
  • Drive quality and process improvements to ensure features are ready for release.
  • Report bugs with outstanding isolation and regression techniques.
  • Balance a wide variety of deliverables while managing priorities and communicating progress effectively.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
