Job description

The Software Engineering Manager for Merchant Shopping and Agency Growth at Google is responsible for leading a team of engineers to develop and optimize software solutions that enhance the experience for advertising agencies. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to manage projects and drive product strategy. The manager will oversee the deployment of large-scale projects and ensure the team maintains a culture of engineering excellence. The position focuses on integrating AI tools and building scalable infrastructure to support agency needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
  • Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Build AI forward experiences for Agencies.
  • Lead the strategic investment in up leveling Agencies as first class citizens.
  • Lead the build out of a scalable backend and frontend infrastructure to generate and serve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), insights and recommendations for Agencies.
  • Lead the project from its early stage to scale and create a long-term strategy.
  • Work cross-functionally with various teams to land and deliver large cross-functional projects.
  • Establish a strong culture of engineering excellence on the team.
