The Member of Technical Staff at Microsoft Robotics will focus on designing and building core infrastructure components for the Microsoft Robotics platform. This role involves creating Software Development Kits (SDKs), cloud services, and agent orchestration layers that facilitate collaboration between humans, AI agents, and robots. The position requires making foundational architectural decisions that influence platform scalability and integration with partners. The team operates in a high-impact environment dedicated to advancing robotics and AI technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- 6+ years of experience designing and building developer platforms, SDKs, APIs, or distributed infrastructure used by multiple teams or external partners.
- Deep expertise in cloud-native systems engineering, including microservice architecture and CI/CD at scale.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement core platform components, including robotics SDKs and cloud-hosted APIs.
- Design the platform's extensibility and integration architecture for autonomy capabilities.
- Build production-grade data infrastructure for the full robotics lifecycle.
- Own cross-cutting platform concerns including authentication and authorization.
- Drive the developer experience for the Microsoft Robotics platform.
