Job description

The Senior Software Engineer will join the Enterprise Resilience and Incident Management Team at Bloomberg, focusing on enhancing physical security and operational efficiency. This role involves designing and building solutions that address real-world problems while supporting business and employee needs. The engineer will work closely with product analysts and stakeholders to define product vision and prioritize initiatives. The team is modernizing systems, including access control and visitor management, to improve scalability and user experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in designing and developing software using languages such as Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience writing code that interacts with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or COMDB2.
  • Experience working in a test-driven development environment with unit testing frameworks like Unittest, Autotest, or Pytest.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the business to build a strong product.
  • Identify gaps and contribute ideas on UI, product, tech stack, and development flow.
