Job description

The Entry Level Structural Engineer position at Jacobs focuses on working with a dedicated team of structural engineers on design and design/build projects for water and wastewater clients. This role is based in one of the Pacific Northwest offices, including Bellevue, WA, and involves performing structural calculations and analyses while collaborating with designers. The position emphasizes building a strong foundation in structural engineering fundamentals and integrating design with other disciplines. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) licensure with a desire to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) and Structural Engineer (SE) licensure
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, OneNote, Teams)
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Must live within commutable distance from one of the offices listed

Responsibilities

  • Perform progressively complex structural calculations and analyses as designs develop
  • Work with designers to communicate requirements through drawings and models
  • Evaluate structures and prepare plans, calculations, and cost estimates for a range of projects
  • Engage in analysis, design, technical writing, construction drawing markup/detailing, and specification development
