Job description
The Entry Level Structural/Jr. Engineer position at Jacobs is an exciting opportunity for recent graduates to join a growing team focused on Federal delivery and expanding into the private sector. The role involves working on diverse projects, including the design of new multi-building complexes and renovations of historic structures. The successful candidate will perform structural calculations and analyses while collaborating with Designers to communicate structural requirements. With mentorship from experienced engineers, this position offers a solid foundation in Structural Engineering principles and practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience
- Ideally, a Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering
- Experience with STAAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam is preferred
- Familiarity with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC
Responsibilities
- Assist in the performance of structural analysis and design for various projects
- Work closely with Structural Leads, Project Managers, and Designers across different disciplines
- Perform increasingly complex calculations and analysis as structural designs are developed
- Communicate structural requirements effectively on paper and in models
- Manage your own workload and meet commitments related to schedule, budget, and quality
