Job description

Apple's Vision Products Group is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to ensure high-quality spatial computing experiences on visionOS. The role involves working closely with software engineers and QA partners to develop rigorous testing strategies for complex applications. The engineer will focus on the end-user experience, ensuring that applications not only function correctly but also feel right. This position requires a blend of technical curiosity and a keen eye for detail.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience working as a Software Quality Engineer
  • In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and testing tools
  • Proven experience developing test plans, test cases, and testing architectures that cover functionality and edge cases
  • Strong ability to assess risk, file appropriate defects, and provide relevant data for test reporting
  • BS/MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field
  • Familiarity with Gen AI coding tools for design, code generation, and debugging
  • Experience with camera, media, or imaging software, with familiarity with the full capture and playback pipeline being a strong plus
  • Familiarity with visionOS, iOS, or Apple's developer ecosystem (Xcode, Radar, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, and/or Swift for scripting, tooling, or test support
  • Experience developing ML-based testing frameworks and leveraging LLM tooling to improve efficiency, coverage, and reporting

Responsibilities

  • Act as the voice of the end-user within a high-performing engineering team
  • Develop rigorous testing strategies for complex, graphically rich applications
  • Work alongside software engineers, EPMs, and cross-functional QA partners to learn the technology being tested
  • Assess risk and file appropriate defects while providing relevant data for test reporting
  • Present analysis and test results clearly to engineering DRIs and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Drive resolutions by triaging problems and prioritizing effectively

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
