JobsElectrical Simulation CAE Engineer
Job description
The Electrical Simulation CAE Team in Hardware Engineering is focused on developing and implementing workflows for electrical and electromagnetic simulations. The team aims to provide accurate and reliable simulation tools to support hardware engineering teams in achieving excellence in electrical design. The role involves creating innovative modeling and simulation solutions in collaboration with cross-functional team members. Candidates should be eager to learn and tackle challenging electrical design problems with innovative approaches.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in AI/ML theory and use of LLMs.
- 2+ years of hands-on simulation workflow development experience.
- Good understanding of the electrical simulation workflow: schematic/layout/CAD > Simulation > Analysis.
- Experience with electrical and electromagnetic simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS, SIwave, Q3D, Maxwell, CST Studio Suite, Keysight ADS, Cadence Clarity/Sigrity, or COMSOL.
- PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field of study.
- Deep understanding of electromagnetics, magnetics, RF, and multi-physics simulations with an electrical emphasis.
- Knowledge of 3D electromagnetic modeling, full-wave solvers, and finite element analysis methods applied to electrical problems.
- Familiarity with automation and workflow processes and scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, TCL).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Create innovative end-to-end modeling and simulation solutions for simulation users across hardware engineering teams.
- Provide early feedback to Apple product design through simulation methodologies.
- Validate and support the application of electrical simulation tools and workflows.
- Implement AI/ML applications to support rapid design iterations for various simulations.
- Focus on workflows and automations for electrical and electromagnetic simulation to inform design decisions.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
