Job description

The Physical Design Engineer will be part of the Digital Design Engineering group, focusing on transforming innovative ideas into reality. This role involves collaborating with foundation IP developers on silicon validation and playing a strategic role in processor design efforts. The engineer will work on comprehensive library EDA view validation and engage in various physical design tasks. This position offers the opportunity to impact product delivery to millions of customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of the RTL2GDSII flow and concepts related to synthesis, place & route, CTS, and timing convergence.
  • Familiarity with development of blocks/partitions for silicon validation of foundation IPs.
  • Experience with ASIC integration flows, including power distribution and global signal planning.
  • Hands-on experience with ECO implementation, both functional and timing closure.
  • Strong scripting skills using Perl/Tcl.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct fully comprehensive library EDA view validation.
  • Take a P&R block through RTL to GDS steps.
  • Perform physical synthesis, placement, CTS, routing, timing optimization, leakage recovery, and closure & signoff.
  • Execute PT/spice correlation, signal and power EM analysis, IR analysis, and PDV.
  • Architect and compose blocks consisting of library cells for complete Silicon Validation.
