Job description
Apple is seeking an experienced Senior iOS Software Engineer to contribute to the development of the next generation of cloud services infrastructure. The role focuses on designing and implementing key components of the iCloud platform, ensuring strong privacy guarantees for end users. You will work closely with highly skilled teams, including the CloudKit team, to establish secure and private cloud foundations. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on applications like FaceTime and iCloud Drive.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong programming skills in Swift and/or Objective-C
- Experience building on Apple Platforms (macOS, iOS, watchOS, tvOS, etc.)
- Experience working with and building system-level frameworks and APIs
- Experience working with client-server architectures and network protocols in a distributed system
- Proven track record of working on rapid development cycles and shipping software on tight schedules
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor's degree, or above, in an engineering-related field or equivalent related experience
- Experience with Swift concurrency
- Experience with security, privacy, and cryptography concepts
- Experience with event-based programming and/or inter-process communication is a plus
- Ability to build relationships in highly cross-functional environments
Responsibilities
- Design and implement key components of the iCloud platform.
- Integrate novel capabilities into Apple's operating systems.
- Collaborate with the CloudKit team and other teams on server components.
- Establish foundations of a secure and private cloud.
- Work on low-level and system-level skills including synchronization protocols and framework design.
- Ensure reliability and construct complex systems that can recover from errors.
