Job description
The Data Center Mechanical Cooling Engineer at Google is responsible for ensuring the optimal design and implementation of cooling infrastructures in data centers. The engineer will act as the primary technical authority during the construction phase, bridging the gap between design and execution. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
- 5 years of experience with thermal topology, including evaporative and non-evaporative cooling.
- 5 years of experience with piping and fluid dynamics.
- Experience with mechanical and building codes and recognized engineering standards.
Responsibilities
- Act as the definitive technical resource for mechanical contractors.
- Perform periodic site walk-throughs to verify mechanical installations.
- Ensure that cooling systems are installed to meet project standards.
- Lead the field-side request for information process to identify conflicts.
- Facilitate collaboration with control systems and electrical teams.
