You will work with a diverse team of engineers and specialists, addressing complex technical issues and collaborating on projects to enhance facility operations. The position requires hands-on troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment, along with training and guiding engineering technicians. An inclusive culture encourages innovative ideas and empowers you to see projects through to completion.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
  • 5+ years of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License

  • 3+ years of construction or project management experience

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary escalation point for all facilities-related issues.
  • Oversee operation and management of routine and emergency services on critical systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot facilities within internal SLAs.
  • Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians.
  • Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians and vendor support teams.
  • Assist in the build-out of new facilities and projects to increase current facility efficiency.
  • Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Work with IT managers and business leaders to coordinate projects and manage capacity.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staff.
  • Establish building performance benchmarks and prepare reports on facility operations.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
