The Senior Software Engineer role on the ClickHouse Infrastructure team focuses on building a managed ClickHouse platform for analytics and real-time insights at Bloomberg. The team aims to provide a ClickHouse-as-a-Service offering that simplifies the deployment and management of analytical workloads. Engineers will work with various programming languages to enhance the platform's capabilities and ensure its reliability and performance. • 4+ years of software engineering experience in object-oriented languages such as Java, Python, Go, or C++.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of modern build and CI/CD tooling like Jenkins, Maven, or Jira.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and multi-threaded programming.
• SQL fundamentals and understanding of basic database operations.

• Drive the design and implementation of ClickHouse platform services including provisioning, scaling, upgrades, and backup/restore.
• Partner with product teams to model data and tune workloads for optimal performance.
• Develop platform features and standards that enable scalable and reliable data ingestion across teams.
• Establish best practices for analytical SQL, cost/performance optimization, and service level objectives.
• Improve operational processes, automation, and documentation for a large fleet of clusters.
