Job description

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Vice President, Lead Software Engineer in New York, NY to partner with global Finance stakeholders. The role focuses on gathering and analyzing requirements, performing data reconciliation, and translating complex business needs into technology-driven solutions. The engineer will oversee data modeling, ETL pipeline design, and the development of applications for financial reporting. Additionally, the position involves leading a global engineering team and ensuring system architectures meet enterprise standards.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Requires seven (7) years of experience in the position offered or seven (7) years as an Associate, Senior Software Engineer Consultant, or a related occupation.
  • Requires seven (7) years of experience with data warehouse – Teradata, data modeling for the financial industry, and ETL tools.
  • Requires six (6) years of experience with SQL.
  • Requires two (2) years of experience leading software development teams and with DevOps including CI/CD and Jenkins.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with global Finance stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Perform data reconciliation and assess system impacts.
  • Translate complex business needs into robust, technology-driven solutions.
  • Oversee the physical and logical data modeling, ETL pipeline design, and reporting application.
  • Manage all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements prioritization and technical design reviews.
  • Ensure that system architectures meet enterprise standards for security, scalability, performance, and audit readiness.
  • Lead and mentor a global engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
