Job description

The Project Controls Engineer will work onsite in Washington, D.C., assisting the Jacobs and client Project Manager with document control and web-based collaboration during the design and construction phases of significant projects. This role requires proficiency in using a commercial Project Management Information System (PMIS) and focuses on ensuring effective communication and documentation management. The ideal candidate will be passionate and client-focused, contributing to the successful delivery of projects in the Nation's Capital. This position offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to solving critical problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction/Project Management, or 10 years of experience in construction administration.
  • 1-2 years of construction support experience.
  • US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and distribute Submittals, RFIs, and Potential Change Orders.
  • Utilize the client’s PMIS to assess, process, and maintain records for contracts.
  • Process approved contractor payment requisitions.
  • Draft recommended responses and actions for RFIs, submittals, change orders, and punch-lists.
  • Analyze construction trends, monitor deliverables, and provide overall administrative management.
  • Maintain as-built drawings and conformed documents.
  • Administer badging procedures for staff.
