Job description

Meta Superintelligence Labs is looking for a Research Scientist Manager to lead a team focused on developing AI Assistants using advanced foundation models. The role involves creating measurement and evaluation strategies that align model development with user value, while collaborating with various teams to ensure reliability and trustworthiness.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience, or PhD + 8 years in large language model, NLP, and Transformer modeling
  • Experience landing large research and/or product impacts in a time-sensitive environment
  • 2+ years of people-management experience leading research scientists or applied scientists
  • Proven technical vision in generative AI
  • Experience with online and offline measurement, benchmark building, and data synthesis
  • Cross-functional collaboration experience with non-engineering teams
  • Experience in recruiting, building, and leading technical organizations

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the scientific roadmap for AI Assistant measurement
  • Lead the development of innovative evaluation metrics, benchmarks, and data synthesis methodologies
  • Partner with research, engineering, and product teams to integrate robust measurement into the model development lifecycle
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients and peer teams for cross-functional projects
  • Mentor and grow a team of research scientists and applied scientists
