Job description
Tesla is seeking a Front-End Software Engineer to develop innovative web applications for its Energy Charging team. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experiences and optimize the global charging ecosystem, directly impacting sustainable energy adoption.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in web application development, ideally with customer-facing and internal tools
- Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS, and the React framework, including Hooks, Context API, and component lifecycle management
- Strong understanding of REST principles and best practices for building and consuming RESTful APIs; experience with GraphQL is a plus
- Familiarity with core React design patterns, state management (e.g., Redux or MobX), and tools like Babel, Webpack, NPM/Yarn
- Experience with Next.js for server-side rendering, static sites, and full-stack development is highly preferred
- Knowledge of modern web trends, including PWAs, accessibility (WCAG standards), security (OWASP guidelines), and performance optimization
- Passion for Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

- Build responsive, secure, intuitive, fast, accessible, and visually stunning global web applications for Tesla Energy customers and internal teams
- Thrive in an agile environment, adapting quickly to evolving business needs and user feedback
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, Product Managers, UX Designers, QA Engineers, and DevOps
- Design for flexibility, scalability, and customization right from the start
- Apply first-principles thinking to optimize processes and enhance performance
- Work on impactful projects that directly advance sustainable energy adoption worldwide
