Tesla's Cell Infrastructure team is seeking a Field Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to support commissioning and startup activities for mechanical systems in new and retrofitted facilities. The role requires a strong background in mechanical systems, ensuring equipment is installed correctly and meets operational and safety standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a field engineering position, preferably in commissioning or operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound judgments under pressure
- Strong background in mechanical systems
Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and execute detailed commissioning plans, procedures, and checklists for mechanical systems
- Review mechanical design documents, submittals, P&IDs, and specifications for compliance and operability
- Perform factory acceptance inspections, site inspections, pre-functional checks, and functional performance testing
- Witness and document equipment startup and testing performed by internal parties, contractors, and vendors
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical system issues
