Tesla is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer responsible for managing critical component development, quality management, and continuous improvement at suppliers. The role involves effective communication, failure analysis, and driving lean manufacturing principles to ensure high-quality components are delivered on time.

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of component or assembly plant experience supporting Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or similar in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Process, Quality, or Manufacturing Engineering role
• Experience in Electronics components and PCBA manufacturing processes, Low voltage and High voltage Power electronics system
• PPAP/APQP processes, advanced knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T), Lean Manufacturing
• Training in quality problem solving methods such as fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE, SPC, 8D
• Quality systems experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred)
• Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills
• Ability to define and execute a project using project management techniques
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on short notice
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Drive supplier accountability for part quality issues impacting Production
• Lead cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues related to Tesla electronics commodity vendors
• Engage with suppliers on short-term containment actions and long-term corrective actions
• Responsible for Supplier Quality Performance at the factory, supporting data collection and analysis
• Set priorities for suppliers based on performance and business needs
• Develop positive relationships with Supply Chain Team to manage supplier/engineering changes
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, part quality, and overall efficiency
