Tesla is looking for an experienced Forward Deployed Engineer to manage on-site deployment and optimization of infrastructure operating systems. This role involves traveling up to 50% of the time to support global operations, including Gigafactories and Solar sites, while ensuring seamless integration of technology and infrastructure.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Computer Science, or related field), Finance, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in forward-deployed roles across full project lifecycles in manufacturing, renewable energy, or industrial infrastructure settings
• Experience with software or automation techniques, including SQL, Python, C-Sharp, R, Tableau, and Power BI
• Strong software engineering skills, including version control with Git, containerization using Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with automation scripting (e.g., Bash, Ansible) and integrating software with hardware systems
• Demonstrated ability to deploy and scale analytics solutions on-site
• Experience in cross-functional, forward-deployed teams
• A first-principles approach to deployment
• Strong field presence and communication skills

• Utilize existing dashboards to triage and understand project health and align with stakeholders
• Deploy and engage users to adopt systems for project forecasting and health monitoring on-site
• Study existing workflows and design improvements to increase user adoption
• Apply data-driven tools and innovations in the field to optimize scheduling and productivity
• Collaborate with partner organizations to ensure organizational flow among project deployments
• Implement long-term solutions that are scalable for next-generation infrastructure
• Act as the on-the-ground technical expert, translating deployment challenges into actionable solutions
