Job description
The Factory Firmware Team is looking for a Firmware Integration Engineer to develop software tools for vehicle diagnostics, testing, and validation. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate firmware into manufacturing processes and troubleshoot production issues.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Strong scripting skills in at least one common language (Python, Ruby, etc.)
- Experience testing and validating embedded software in electro-mechanical systems
- Strong experience collaborating with colleagues and communicating complex technical concepts
- Detail-oriented with creative problem-solving skills
- Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience with new product introduction and process improvements
- Experience in high volume automotive manufacturing
- Understanding of lean manufacturing metrics
- 2+ years of professional/relevant experience, preferred
Responsibilities
- Set up system level manufacturing processes related to firmware from initial concept to final product
- Develop software tools for vehicle diagnostics, testing, and validation
- Integrate vehicle firmware tests in manufacturing and support new program launches
- Validate firmware in manufacturing through integration and release of new firmware versions
- Develop software solutions to bridge manufacturing process gaps and streamline production
- Develop and improve tools and resolve firmware related issues to support production targets
- Influence the end-to-end process of firmware integration into vehicle subsystems
- Troubleshoot high priority production situations through root cause analysis and implementation of solutions
