Tesla is seeking a highly-motivated engineer to implement Manufacturing Engineering and lean principles at Gigafactory Texas. The role involves improving manufacturing processes for electric vehicles through collaboration and data-driven decision-making.
Requirements
- Experience performing detailed analysis necessary to make data driven decisions on process layout design, production line design or warehouse design
- Familiar with Discrete Event Simulation software like Flexsim and AnyLogic
- Able to gain buy-in from a diverse group of stakeholders
- Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with MOS/MES systems is a plus
- Mastery of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
Responsibilities
- Work with manufacturing engineering and production teams to identify production constraints
- Collaborate with production engineering teams to determine overall equipment effectiveness and associated improvement strategies
- Perform value-stream analysis through the use of simulations
- Work with the external teams designing production lines for the factory to ensure that their layouts align with the overall plan and vision for the factory
- Support decision making on process layout through the use of data
