Job description
Tesla's Cell Engineering team is seeking an Industrial Engineer to enhance the global expansion of 4680 cell manufacturing. The role involves industrializing manufacturing lines through value-stream analysis and simulations, optimizing existing factories, and validating design choices for new facilities.
Requirements
- Degree or Equivalent Experience in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
- 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Familiar with Discrete Event Simulation software like Flexsim, AnyLogic, Arena or Simio
- Experience in detailed analysis for data-driven decisions on process layout design, production line design, or warehouse design
- Exceptional analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize large datasets into clear insights
- Ability to gain buy-in from diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Meticulous, organized, and disciplined in documentation and process ownership
- Experience with AutoCAD is preferred
- Mastery of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
Responsibilities
- Perform value-stream analysis through the use of simulations
- Support and validate decision making on process and material flow layout with data
- Deep dive into production assumptions to identify risks, bottlenecks, and optimization opportunities
- Work with internal teams designing production lines to ensure alignment with factory vision
- Analyze and optimize existing factory and asset running conditions
- Propose and quantify benefits of layout changes for operating or future conceptual factories
