The Senior FPGA Prototyping Platform Engineer will join the Emulation team in Santa Clara, CA, focusing on building FPGA prototypes for next-generation GPUs and SOCs. This role requires a passion for innovation and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, coordinating with various teams to resolve complex problems. The engineer will be responsible for hands-on lab debugging and supporting customers with prototype issues. A strong background in FPGA prototyping and hardware architecture is essential for success in this position.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields with 7+ years of experience in FPGA prototyping, or MS with 5+ years of proven experience in FPGA prototyping.
- Good understanding of FPGA prototyping hardware architecture, flows, and tools.
- Experience with hands-on FPGA prototyping lab tasks and managing lab technicians in a medium to large scale lab environment.
- Experience in backend flows of FPGA Prototyping, including Synthesis, P&R, and Timing closure, with emphasis on Synopsys Protocompiler and Xilinx Vivado.
- Hands-on experience with lab FPGA debug methodologies, tools, and lab debug equipment.
Responsibilities
- Build FPGA prototypes by taking the design through synthesis and place and route, analyzing timing and generating bitstreams.
- Bring up the design on FPGA prototyping platforms involving hands-on lab debug with hardware and software debuggers.
- Release the prototype to customers and provide support when they encounter problems.
- Use hardware diagnostics specific to prototyping platforms to help isolate issues between the hardware platform and the FPGA design.
- Coordinate effectively with verification engineers, software teams, and lab technicians to accomplish tasks.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts.
