Job description
The Chip Passive Design Engineer at Apple will work on developing RF/AMS chips for mobile devices. This role involves designing on-chip inductors, transformers, capacitors, and filters, while collaborating with various multi-functional teams. The engineer will be responsible for the entire process from design to tape-out. A strong understanding of electromagnetic theory and microwave engineering is essential for success in this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Demonstrates deep knowledge of electromagnetic theory, microwave engineering, and antenna engineering.
- Proficiency with EM passive designs and familiarity with EM simulation tools like HFSS, EMX, or Momentum.
- Experience in on-chip EM modeling is helpful.
- Familiarity with on-wafer measurement and experience using VNA, TDR, and LCR meters.
- Excellent academic background with industry-related work experience beyond graduate school studies.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical and physical components and circuits for EM/Microwave applications.
- Collaborate with RF, packaging, CAD, and process engineering teams to develop future RF on-chip passives.
- Orchestrate the design process from initial concept to tape-out.
