Job description
The Service Engineer II role at Microsoft Digital focuses on the administration and service management of Microsoft Fabric and Power Platform within the M365 MultiTenant team. This position involves configuring, governing, and operating these platforms across Microsoft's internal tenants, with a primary emphasis on Fabric. The role requires close collaboration with software engineers to drive automation and enforce policies that ensure service health and risk visibility. The position is based in Redmond, offering a hybrid work model with both in-office and remote work options.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 2+ years of technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, systems engineering, or industrial controls.
- 4+ years of professional service engineering experience operating production services at scale is preferred.
- Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Fabric and/or Power Platform at scale.
- Comfortable reading and contributing to automation code in PowerShell, Python, C#, or TypeScript.
Responsibilities
- Administer Microsoft Fabric across many internal tenants, focusing on capacity and workspace governance.
- Administer Power Platform across the tenant fleet, managing environments and DLP policies.
- Define baselines, policy, and operational requirements for Fabric and Power Platform.
- Operate the Fabric and Power Platform admin surfaces, monitoring service health and triaging incidents.
- Interface with Fabric, Power Platform, and partner teams on governance requirements and roadmap changes.
