Job description
Apple is seeking a module design engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation smart display technology. This role involves managing new display and light sensor technology development and optimizing system-level performance. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to validate system designs and improve display performance. Requirements
- Ph.D. or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field
- Experience in optical design and simulation for light sources, optics, sensors, and their interactions
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment for optical and electrical characterization
- Expertise in light source and sensing technology such as mini-LEDs, micro-LEDs, VSCEL, ALS, and Proximity Sensors
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- An eagerness to take on new challenges and learn new skills
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and qualification activities of smart display technology and products
- Manage the implementation of critical technology platforms to improve display performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand design tolerance and sensitivities
- Validate system designs through engineering builds and design of experiments
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for optical systems
- Take hardware products from concept through to mass production
