The Colo Physical Security Engineer [Architect] at AWS is responsible for designing safe and secure data center facilities in collaboration with Colocation Vendor partners. This role involves leading security designs and impacting global security standards for AWS data centers. • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related technical field
• 5+ years of physical security engineering experience in industrial or commercial facilities
• 2+ years of physical security engineering experience in mission critical facilities including data centers
• Experience carrying physical security design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings and specifications
• Experience working with and managing third party vendors and consultants
• ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification
• Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) certification
• Experience in construction administration and commissioning
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region

• Lead designs for physical security elements for Colo DC projects.
• Collaborate with other security organizations within AWS to develop design standards.
• Communicate conceptual designs to internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in the maintenance of basis of design documents and template specifications.
• Create security design scope of work for Colo DC project RFPs.
• Review and direct the work of Colo physical security engineering design consultants.
• Manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
• Travel for site assessments and internal design meetings, with anticipated travel not to exceed 25%.
