Job description

The Product Development Engineer will work within the Broadband Plasma products team at KLA, focusing on the design and testing of complex inspection systems. This role requires collaboration with marketing and engineering teams to define system architecture and validate performance through test plans. The engineer will also support customers in optimizing tool performance and solving intricate problems. This position offers the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technology in the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Strong background in engineering or physical science with demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in optics, opto-mechanics, and motion control systems.
  • Understanding of Optical, Electromechanical, and Software systems and their interactions in complex industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with scientific and statistical analysis tools and software tools such as Matlab and JMP.
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Python.
  • Enthusiastic communication skills to provide guidance and technical summaries.

Responsibilities

  • Work with marketing and engineering teams to define system architecture and create test plans.
  • Collaborate with functional groups to define and review designs to solve customer problems.
  • Support internal and external customers in implementing processes to build and use the tool effectively.
  • Solve intricate problems to optimize tool performance.
  • Occasional travel up to 10% will be required.
