Job description

The Head of Global Capacity Management for Forward Deployed Engineering at Google is responsible for leading a global team of Capacity Managers to optimize staffing and utilization of talent across various engagements. This role connects high-level business strategy with operational execution, ensuring that Google Cloud Consulting has the right talent available at the right time. The position requires collaboration with Global Leadership and Strategy and Operations to influence critical business decisions and advocate for operational efficiency. The role also involves developing metrics for tracking staffing efficiency and maintaining relationships with practice managers and consultants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 7 years of experience in people management.
  • Experience leading a globally distributed team.
  • Experience with executive stakeholder management.
  • Experience with capacity planning models.
  • Experience in staffing and forecasting in fractional staffing models.
  • Experience building dashboards in BI tools.
  • Knowledge of public cloud technologies, products, trends, and market dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a global team of Capacity Managers focused on day-to-day staffing of Google talent on Customer Engagements.
  • Partner with Strategy and Operations and Google Cloud Consulting leadership to create best practices for staffing and utilization management.
  • Partner with Global Leadership to address supply and demand issues and influence business decisions.
  • Lead weekly staffing meetings with Professional Services teams and ensure supply and demand forecasts are accurate.
  • Develop new metrics for tracking staffing efficiency.
  • Create and maintain relationships with practice managers and consultants.
