Job description
Amazon is seeking a software development engineer to innovate and integrate robotics within its global fulfillment network. This position is part of a newly established team focused on creating edge compute solutions for industrial automation applications. The role offers a fast-paced, collaborative environment where the engineer will be involved in various automation projects from inception to delivery. The ideal candidate will work across multiple layers of the software stack, from low-level machine controls to cloud-based solutions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 3+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
- 3+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with AWS technologies
- Experience in robotics design, automation systems development, or control systems design
- Ability to travel up to 20%
Responsibilities
- Integrate with a diverse array of internally and externally developed hardware and software services
- Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Validate solutions via software-in-the-loop simulation
- Work closely with deployment teams to implement end-to-end solutions in the field
- Develop infrastructure to support development, operations, and maintenance of low level and cloud software for warehouse automation systems
