The Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer will join a collaborative team at Jacobs, focusing on providing innovative engineering solutions for advanced facilities projects. This remote position emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and problem-solving to meet client objectives. The role involves developing HVAC systems and ensuring successful project execution while mentoring junior team members. The engineer will also engage in client development and maintain strong relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- At least 10 years of related experience, specifically in pharmaceutical facility design including cGMP manufacturing facilities
- Professional Engineer (PE) License is highly preferred
- Knowledge of building load calculation software such as Trane Trace or Carrier HAP
- Understanding of or experience using AutoCAD, Revit, and other 3D design tools
- Knowledge of building codes and industry standards is required
- Central Utility Plant design experience including large chilled water systems and steam boiler systems is required
- Ability to lead a mechanical/utilities team from concept design through start-up is required
Responsibilities
- Develop overall Conceptual and Basis of Design level design approaches and documentation
- Develop HVAC and plant utility systems philosophies
- Create mechanical and utility equipment and construction specifications
- Perform temperature, humidity control, and utility load calculations
- Develop airflow diagrams, pressurization plans, and ductwork and piping plans
- Create P&IDs, equipment plans, and plant utility distribution plans
- Develop building management system control philosophy and details
- Provide construction assistance through submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field visits
- Direct activities of CAD/REVIT Designers and utilize CAD and modeling programs as necessary
- Manage and develop mechanical/utilities scope for project budgets and schedules
- Market services to clients and maintain client relationships
- Travel as required for client development and project execution
