Job description

The Senior Hardware Engineer will play a crucial role in the development of the Pixel Watch, focusing on electromagnetic integrity and signal/power integrity. This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance hardware performance and optimize next-generation wearable technology. The engineer will lead simulations and analyses to ensure high-fidelity accuracy in electromagnetic modeling. The role is part of the Google Pixel team, which is dedicated to creating innovative mobile experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field.
  • 4 years of experience in direct electromagnetic modeling using tools such as Ansys HFSS/Q3D, CST microwave studio, or cadence clarity.
  • Master's degree or PhD in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in electromagnetic fields and near-field coupling mechanisms.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard SI/PI simulation and layout ecosystems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive EM simulations at both the component and system levels.
  • Perform detailed correlation studies between simulation models and bench lab measurements.
  • Deliver targeted simulations and Design of Experiments to assist cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct Pixel Watch Signal Integrity and Power Integrity simulations focusing on Power Delivery Network analysis.
  • Provide data-driven analysis to support and validate high-level architecture decisions.
