The Vice President of Software Engineering at Goldman Sachs will lead the development and maintenance of the firm's software solutions to support global business operations. This role involves designing high-quality technology solutions and working through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). The position requires collaboration with internal teams to create innovative solutions and the identification of new technologies to enhance financial services. Additionally, the role includes mentoring junior team members and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or a related field and three years of experience in a software engineering role, or a Bachelor's degree in the same fields and five years of experience.
• Prior experience must include three years of experience with a Master’s degree or five years with a Bachelor's degree in software engineering.
• Experience with C++ or Java.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and production support.
• Experience building multi-threaded and multi-process service-oriented enterprise applications within a Unix environment.
• Familiarity with programming technologies including Spring, Hibernate, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
• Experience with relational database management systems such as Sybase or Oracle.
• Knowledge of micro-services architecture design and development including REST and Spring.
• Proficiency in database query languages, including SQL or NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB.
