Job description

The Display Module Engineer will be part of Apple's Display Technologies group, focusing on the design, fabrication, and implementation of display components for the Apple Watch. This role involves advancing display modules from fundamental device physics to system level integration. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to ensure high-quality displays that enhance user experience. The position requires hands-on lab work and may involve international travel during product launches.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement of a bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Science, or Materials Science.
  • Technical experience in optical design and characterization, semiconductor optoelectronics, and display technologies.
  • Experience with optical measurement systems for characterization, testing, and validation.
  • Proficiency in programming languages for data acquisition, statistical analysis, and optical simulation tools.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and multi-functional leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the multi-functional team to set goals and priorities for product launches.
  • Own the display module master specification from pre-concept phase through mass production.
  • Conduct hands-on lab work to test and characterize display performance.
  • Travel to international sites to support builds during critical new product introduction phases.
  • Scout and evaluate materials, processes, and technology from suppliers to push technology forward.
