Job description

The Associate, Software Engineering position at Goldman Sachs involves developing and maintaining software solutions to support global business operations. The role focuses on designing high-quality technology solutions and working through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or a related field and one year of experience in a software engineering role, or a Bachelor's degree in the same fields and two years of experience.
  • Experience with C++ or Java.
  • Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and production support.
  • Experience building multi-threaded and multi-process service-oriented enterprise applications within a Unix environment.
  • Knowledge of programming technologies including Spring, Hibernate, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
  • Experience with relational database management systems such as Sybase or Oracle.
  • Understanding of micro-services architecture design and development including REST and Spring.
  • Proficiency in database query languages, including SQL or NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, support, and maintain the Firm's software solutions.
  • Design and implement high-quality, scalable technology solutions.
  • Assist in requirements gathering and user story refinement.
  • Conduct development, testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and deployment.
  • Work with internal teams to develop solution designs.
  • Identify new external technologies to transform financial businesses.
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust testing suites.
