Job description

The Software Development Engineer role at Software Controls and Science (SCS) focuses on innovating Human Machine Interfacing Platforms to enhance automated material handling systems. The team is dedicated to revolutionizing warehouse automation through collaborative problem-solving and innovative solutions. Candidates will work within Amazon's Fulfillment Technologies Robotics organization, contributing to the development of tools that automate the management and monitoring of complex systems. This position offers an opportunity to impact logistics and supply chain optimization on a global scale.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and code reviews
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and industrial protocols

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs to support system visualization platforms
  • Develop tooling for performance monitoring, testing, and deployment automation
  • Collaborate with Front End Engineers and UX designers to create integrated solutions
  • Implement secure and efficient data processing systems for industrial control systems
  • Create and maintain documentation for backend services and APIs
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design discussions
