Job description

The ML Engineer role at Amazon Search focuses on developing services and infrastructure that integrate machine learning, big data, and distributed systems. The Search Science Data Infrastructure (SSDI) team is responsible for delivering high-quality ML model training data and providing access to ML artifacts. This position involves managing the machine learning lifecycle and operations using AWS AI services and building scalable data-intensive infrastructure. The role aims to enhance Amazon's product search capabilities across various geographic regions and product categories.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience with training and deploying machine learning systems to solve large-scale optimizations
  • Experience in operational excellence, security compliance, and distributed systems resiliency
  • Experience working with customers and delivering exceptional service

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of services and infrastructure at the intersection of machine learning, big data, and distributed systems.
  • Manage the machine learning lifecycle and operations using AWS AI services and core search backend services.
  • Build scalable data-intensive infrastructure that processes large amounts of logs, catalogs, and telemetry signals.
  • Drive the provision of a world-class platform for Amazon Search engineers to observe and introspect their applications.
  • Collaborate with partners on data experimentation to advance Amazon product search.
  • Ensure the availability of product search across all geographic regions and various use cases.
