Job description

The Event Productions System Engineer role focuses on maintaining the health and operational reliability of technical production systems during events. This position is part of Amazon Engine's Event Production team, which is dedicated to delivering high-profile events with top-quality audio, lighting, and video technology. The engineer will serve as a subject matter expert in technical event productions, ensuring exceptional customer experiences through hands-on problem solving. The role requires adaptability to diverse event types and last-minute changes while performing both planned and unplanned system maintenance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of supporting a Windows server environment experience
  • 4+ years of experience in an entertainment, film, television, or theatre production environment
  • Experience operating and maintaining technical production systems including audio, lighting, and video equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues in live event environments
  • Ability to work adaptive event hours and travel domestically approximately 35% of the time
  • Experience supporting video conference and teleconference equipment
  • Experience with Dante, SMPTE 2110, and Q-SYS

Responsibilities

  • Provide event setup coordination of assigned technical systems and recommendations for technical resource scheduling and labor script
  • Test and troubleshoot equipment use cases, evaluating risks to properly gauge and act on immediate optimum solutions
  • Support and partner with Operational Engineers to solve current problems and proactively implement solutions to prevent issues before they occur
  • Quickly identify and resolve problems, escalating complex issues to management while maintaining production stability
  • Assist with the strike of event space(s), ensuring correct equipment handling and storage
  • Participate in post-event feedback, discussions, and surveys
