Job description

The ML Engineer role within the Search Science Data Infrastructure (SSDI) team focuses on developing services and infrastructure that integrate machine learning, big data, and distributed systems. This position is crucial for managing the machine learning lifecycle and operations, utilizing AWS AI services and core search backend services. The team aims to provide a world-class platform for Amazon Search engineers, enabling them to observe and introspect their applications effectively. The role also involves building scalable infrastructure that processes large amounts of data to enhance Amazon's product search capabilities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Master's degree or above in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience in operational excellence, security compliance, and distributed systems resiliency
  • Experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of services and infrastructure at the intersection of machine learning, big data, and distributed systems.
  • Manage the machine learning lifecycle and operations using AWS AI services and core search backend services.
  • Build scalable data-intensive infrastructure that processes huge amounts of logs, catalogs, transactional data, and telemetry signals.
  • Work with partners on data experimentation to advance Amazon product search.
  • Enable teams to become more data-driven and build robust and explainable ML services.
