The role is for a software engineer in the query processing team of Amazon Redshift, focusing on enhancing the cloud data warehouse's capabilities. The team is responsible for query analysis, optimization, and execution. Engineers will work on SQL language features, distributed data processing algorithms, and integration with other AWS services. This position offers a unique opportunity to impact analytical workloads for a diverse range of customers.
Requirements
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
- Experience with C#, C++, Java, or Perl
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience working on Database query engine
Responsibilities
- Design and implement new SQL language features for Redshift.
- Develop state-of-the-art distributed data processing algorithms for the query engine.
- Work on integration between Redshift and other AWS services.
- Identify opportunities for performance improvement through query analysis.
- Deploy and monitor new features in a fault-tolerant cloud system.
- Mentor other engineers and provide technical guidance.
