Job description
The Senior Security Engineer role within the Cloud CISO team at Google focuses on ensuring the highest security standards for software and systems. This position involves conducting technical security assessments, code reviews, and vulnerability testing to identify and mitigate risks. The team is dedicated to enhancing the security capabilities of Google Cloud products by integrating security practices into the development process. As a senior member, you will also mentor junior team members and lead technical risk analyses.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
- 5 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols.
- 5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
- 1 year of experience leading teams in a technical capacity or leading technical risk analysis in an enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
- Leverage Gemini and other AI tools to analyze products, identify risks, and create remediation strategies.
- Review and develop secure operational practices, and provide security guidance for engineers and support staff.
- Review designs and look for vulnerabilities, both with one-time reviews and longer term engagements.
- Look for vulnerabilities using techniques including agentic AI scanning, reverse engineering, fuzzing, and static analysis.
- Surface vulnerability patterns and design them out, focusing on the security strategy for Google Cloud.
