Job description

The Staff Software Engineer for Google Cloud Business Platforms will be responsible for developing solutions that support Cloud Marketing, Sales, Partner, Support, Finance, and other critical functions. This role requires a deep expertise in software development and architecture, as well as the ability to influence stakeholders and solve complex problems. The engineer will work on projects that drive the growth of Google Cloud and will have opportunities to switch teams as the business evolves. The position demands versatility and leadership qualities to tackle new challenges across the full-stack.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 10 years of technical experience in web application design and development using Java, JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, XML, and JSON.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead responsible for designing solutions.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt it based on user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug, track, or resolve them by analyzing the sources of issues.
  • Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
